National Health Equity Week recognizes outstanding professionals who are making meaningful contributions to improving healthcare access, advancing organizational excellence, and fostering healthier communities. Through our annual recognition program, we honor individuals whose leadership, innovation, and commitment are helping shape the future of healthcare.
Our recognition recipients represent a broad range of healthcare organizations, including hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers, public health agencies, community health organizations, government institutions, nonprofit organizations, and healthcare technology companies. Each honoree demonstrates a commitment to advancing initiatives that improve patient outcomes, strengthen healthcare organizations, and create lasting, positive impact.
Recipients are recognized during National Health Equity Week and featured across our website, digital publications, social media platforms, and event communications.
Top 50 Health Equity Officers
The Top 50 Health Equity Officers recognition honors executive leaders who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in developing and implementing strategies that improve healthcare access, strengthen organizational culture, and advance equitable healthcare delivery.
Honorees are selected based on their measurable leadership, innovative initiatives, organizational impact, and commitment to improving healthcare outcomes for the communities they serve.
Selection Criteria
Nominees are evaluated based on:
- Executive leadership and strategic vision
- Demonstrated impact on organizational health equity initiatives
- Innovation in healthcare delivery or patient access
- Cross-functional collaboration and community engagement
- Workforce leadership and organizational culture
- Measurable outcomes and sustainable organizational impact
- Professional contributions to the healthcare industry
Eligible titles may include Chief Health Equity Officer, Vice President of Health Equity, Executive Director of Health Equity, and other senior leaders with primary responsibility for advancing health equity initiatives.
Top 100 Health Equity Champions
The Top 100 Health Equity Champions recognizes professionals whose leadership, service, advocacy, education, research, or community engagement has significantly contributed to advancing health equity within their organizations or communities.
This recognition celebrates individuals from a wide range of professional backgrounds who are driving meaningful change through collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to improving healthcare for diverse populations.
Selection Criteria
Nominees are evaluated based on:
- Leadership in advancing health equity initiatives
- Contributions to improving patient care or community health
- Innovation and implementation of impactful programs
- Collaboration across healthcare organizations and community partners
- Professional excellence and industry leadership
- Advocacy, education, or research supporting improved health outcomes
- Demonstrated commitment to creating sustainable, positive change
Eligible nominees may include physicians, nurses, healthcare executives, public health professionals, researchers, educators, administrators, policymakers, community leaders, and other professionals making a meaningful impact on healthcare and community well-being.
Nomination Process
Nominations for both recognition programs are accepted from colleagues, healthcare organizations, professional associations, community partners, and self-nominations. All submissions undergo an independent review process based on the published selection criteria. Nominees are able to upload supporting documentation, though not required.
Honorees will be announced during National Health Equity Week, July 13-17, 2027, and recognized as national leaders whose work continues to strengthen healthcare organizations, improve patient outcomes, and advance healthier communities across the country.
